It was a remarkably hot day, hotter than it had been in months. With Summer just around the corner, Springtime in the Ganges Basin had begun to heat up. Sylph lay coiled up on the flat dark rocks by the waterside. These rocks were great for absorbing the heat of the sun with their dark surfaces; which created a good place for her to warm up her cold-blooded body. She blended in perfectly with the rocks, she appeared as merely a bump in the scenery.
Half asleep in the warm sunlight, she waited with watchful eyes. She was waiting for prey to venture too close to the invisible reptile. She scanned the grasses near the waters edge, this was where small rodent-like animals liked to drink, but nothing was there now; not in this heat. So instead she waited, as she was content with just basking in the sun, weather or not anything came her way.
