|| * A R I * || The morning sunlight tapered through the large branches of the trees that surrounded him on all sides. A cool breeze flitted through the forest, and with it, bringing the scent of water. The leaves crackled as the young tiger trekked through the forest, in search of the the water that he could smell from up ahead. His tail tip flicked nervously, the only sign that showed others he wasn't completely at ease in this large place. His mother use to take him and his sister here to have a change in scenery. She use to tell them both the stories that her mother told her and her siblings. Of how, in the time of the humans, the two-legged creatures use to walk through these woods.
The thought of humans walking in the same paths as him frightened him. He had never actually seen a human, thankfully. He was born years after they went extinct. But even from the stories his mother told him, they sounded like frightening beasts. Now, he knew that a human wouldn't just spring out of the bush and attack him. He had other worries as well. He probably was not the only tiger in this area. It's not too far from where he was born and raised, but he had tried carving out a territory here, with no luck. He continued running into other tigers that had the tendency to chase him out, due to his smaller size.
Stopping to check the scents in the air that flowed around him every so often, he had yet to catch the scent of another tiger. Strange, but it made Ari feel less vulnerable. He was so close now, he could hear a small river trickling just through the bushes. He popped his orange and black tiger head through the bushes to take a look around. There was nothing around here for the moment that would chase him out. He did remember a time when he was with his mother and sister and there was another tiger here. It was another female with two cubs. The tigress hadn't necessarily chased them out of her territory, him and his mother and sister just let the tigers be. His mother knew of another good drinking spot that was just down the river a little further.
Coming to the water's edge, he bent down and lapped up the water. Cool and refreshing, even better than he had remembered. He retreated from the water's edge a few paces and layed on the ground with a sigh. The birds high above in the trees chirped happily as they too went about their daily routine. Ari's body slowly relaxed as his head fell to the ground ever so slowly. He had eaten just before arriving here and he was ready for a nap. Closing his eyes, he was keen to stay alert. His ears pricked back and forth with every noise.

The sunlight hit Saharia like a bullet-train. She closed her eyes quickly and crawled into shade, her body restless and tired, although she still moved fast and swiftly along in the shadows. She ran through trees and appeared, back out in the open, a pond near. She smelt tigers nearby and sighed, she was in the mood to see only one tiger and get it over with.
Today was the day that Ria was only in the mood to meet a tiger with the perfect personality or else she just wanted to drink her water and walk away with no worries. It was more of her cocky, ignorance day. Of course if she met prince charming or the best gal friend she would stay for a while and lose her attitude.
Her perfect orange and black stripes shun in the morning sunlight and the cool breeze blew around the clear pond water. She approached it, across from a male tiger and she looked up at him with a grin, her hazel-yellow meeting his eyes. She took a few licks of the water and walked around the pond towards him, her beautiful eyes gazing toward him.

He detected it the moment before it happened. He lifted his head up as soon as he smelled the other tiger. Female or male? As she appeared, he noted that the tiger was a female. A younger female. He doubted that it would be anything to be frightened of, but to be sure, he bared his large incisors as he growled, "Who are you?" He had been chased off from his resting places too many times to not be this aggressive.
He calculated how easy it would be to overpower the tigress, in the rare instance of her attacking him. She looked young, and she probably was. It was quite possible he could overpower her, but then again, he wasn't the strongest feline in the world. Maybe he should just run. OOC - oh holy crap this was an absolutely horrible reply xD

Saharia put her ears down and gave a small growl back but sat down and got herself back in neutral stance. "Hey. I didn't mean any harm. My name is Saharia. Ria." She said, in her high, beautiful, natural tone as her tail swayed softly. She was about 4 feet away from him when she sat down and sighed. Yet again she looked into his eyes, seriously but with a softer tension. "What's your name, sir?" She asked sweetly.
She bowed herself down respectfully and dipped her orange-black striped paw in the cool, clear water. She licked it a couple times before looking at him yet again. She thought Maybe he's just aggressive and doesn't want me here.

His tight muscles relaxed as she spoke. "Hey. I didn't mean any harm. My name is Saharia. Ria." He was still acutely aware of what she was doing as he watched her. It was a nice name, though. He hadn't ever heard a name like it. He closed his mouth, but then opened it to speak once more, this time is a friendlier tone. "Ari. My name is Ari" He watched her every move, as she dipped her paw into the water, then proceeded to lick it a couple of times. "What brings you to this part of the forest?" He asked, realizing it was probably a stupid question. Most of the animals around here came here for the nice, cool water and serene atmosphere.

She watched as he watched her every move. She wondered why he watched her like a hawk. If she was to try to fight him he would obviously win although he was particularly skinny, but still big for a male tiger. He still wasn't the biggest, tiger around. "I like your name. Anyways, this is the only place where I actually can hunt and get the best water ever." She said, eagerly. "You don't have to stare ya know." She giggled, her girly little laughter as she cleared her throat softly.
The breeze finally died down and the leaves grew still. The pond was now still water and her reflection was crystal clear. She looked at it for a while, testing out her dazzling grin before turning her attention to him again. He seemed sort of interesting, maybe a little foolish. He wasn't that awkward though and seemed very sweet. It was in her interest to keep talking to him.

Of course she was here because of the good hunting and nice water. Most animals that ever came down here came here for that reason alone. But once she mentioned his "staring" he became much more self-aware. He hadn't really meant to come off as staring, merely watching to see what the her next move would be. He flattened his ears in slight embarrassment. "Sorry. He said shyly. Her laughter was girly, and came off as kind of childish and cub-like. And now, the two felines were at a stalemate. He didn't know what to say, being more self-conscious about himself now. "So, uh. How long you been in the forest for?" It was corny, but it was all he could think of to say.

Saharia sighed and shook her head. It's okay. I understand you wouldn't trust me, it's fine. You didn't creep me out or anything. Ria laughed her laugh again and then cleared her throat, being serious again. She looked down and said "I grew up here. I was born here and my brothers left me during a terrible storm a couple years back. It's okay now though." Ria smiled brightly. She laid her head down and looked at Ari again, her eyes not leaving his, waiting for his response.

Ari listened to her. And listened well. It was probably the first time he had listened that well since before he left his mother. He felt even more relief course through his body when she told him that it was fine. He regained his composure as he returned the the position he was in before she arrived, laying beside the water. He held his head up attentively. Then she began talking about her family. Well, I'm sorry to hear that. He told her. He truly was sorry for her. He would have hated to loose his family before he was ready. He watched as she laid her head down and watched him. But It's still a nice place to grow up. This forest. He added. He would have loved to actually live here, if it weren't for all the other tigers around here, that is.

She nodded, her beautiful gazed around the forest. "Believe it or not there wasn't this many tiger back then. Only a few, hunting and napping and then traveling the rest of Asia." She said, in a light tone, almost a whisper. She flashed back to when she was a cub and she roamed the forest and the one day her dad was hunted down and he saved Ria's litter and hid them. Then her mom died 2 months later after being depressed. Saharia lived with her brothers for about a year until they left the forest one day and a storm started. Ria ran back here but her brothers went the wrong way. She had cried for days and days before she decided to be strong and start a new life.
Saharia looked at Ari and smiled. "Do you hunt deer? I'm kinda hungry." She said clearing her throat and getting up. She looked at him and then past the trees to where she smelt the scent. Her tail gracefully swayed and her paws stayed planted in the grass, right before the trees.

(I'm going to kinda join in. Not really though.)
Theo sat high above the two tigers in a large tree of what he beleived to be a deciduous. It had leaves instead of needles, but yet he had never seen a tree of this variety. He watched intently at the exchange between the two tigers, they always peaked his interest. Such mysterious animals, but also deadly if he got too close. They talked for a while, their voices almost too far away to make out what they were saying. He caught the odd word or two, but mainly just watched their behaviour. After what seemed like a very long time to him, the female stood. It seemed that they were going hunting. Theo cocked his head and listened, but could hear no prey nearby. He prepared to take off, to follow these lions as they hunted.

Ari listened to the tigress as she talked. There wasn't this many tigers around back then? Well, maybe not, but there sure were enough hanging around this area when his mom brought him here. The orange and black animal simply nodded his head to let her know he had heard her, not really knowing what to say. He watched as she rose, and said she was hungry. He truthfully wasn't very hungry. He had eaten before he came into the area. "I hunt anything that tastes good." He said with a laugh. He lifted his head to smell the air, but couldn't smell much. He did however, feel as if something nearby was watching them. He didn't pay too much attention to it though. If it had been something like prey, he would have scented it. Or even if it was a danger, he still probably would have scented it.

Saharia smiled brightly as she trotted along the trail, smelling something very light as if is was a rabbit or rat. "Ok. I smell a couple rabbit's from here so if your not hungry just snack on a little one" She said in a light tone. Obviously he would do what he wanted to do but she just wanted to come out, sounding friendly and showing him that she is both nice and serious. She trotted along the trees until she finally saw 5 little rabbits hopping along. She crawled near them and got the pounce one of them. She quickly ate at it and clawed another fatal wound into the next one. She this one and then turned to Ari who looked like he wasn't as hungry as she had been. She wasn't exactly full but could travel until the next day and hunt tomorrow. "Ari, where is your pack/family?" She turned to him, her ears perking up and her glowing eyes looking deeply into his.
